Acronym explanation
Several acronyms are used across the net to reduce typing strokes. Some of the more popular ones here are:
Some characters you may encounter:
Finally, a definition of flaming. Flaming is posting something with the expectation of stirring the ire of the board participants. For instance, posting 'Pitt sucks' has no merit at all but to entice Pitt fans to respond with equal venom. Be aware that posts like 'Penn State is overrated' may also be perceived as flaming, even though a case may be made for the truthfulness of the statement. If you post something you feel is a not a flame and have it removed, please realize that other posters may have caused the entire thread to be deleted.
Use your own good judgement. Don't say anything you wouldn't say to your mother, or to another Penn Stater you run into in an airport.
Educational Accounts Advisory:
We recommend those using "educational accounts" to read the "acceptable use policy" provided by your institution. In addition, those using accounts provided by an educational institution, may be subject to disciplinary actions as stipulated in their acceptable use policy for violating those terms.
Ladies and Gentlemen; this is a "Private forum" which is available for all people to enjoy. You will not find a better forum anywhere on the network. A few people will not ruin it for all others who are here to enjoy and exchange ideas and thoughts. We care not for people; no matter what their affiliation, that gets their jollies by posting inane, hostile, or provocative trash. It reflects on the fans, it reflects on any educational institution, service providers, and it reflects on you. Service providers are growing less tolerant of violations to their "terms of service"
Keep it clean or take it else where, or we will take it to your service provider; that's a guarantee!
Your co-operation is expected and appreciated. Enjoy your many visits here.
